HELLO
Porsche has a revised instrument panel circuit board #944 641 959 02 for cars that turn on their oil level light or won't shut it off when the engine is running, porsche says the board got damaged.

I'LL SEND A BILL LATER

Steve! where did you get this info? I am struggling with my oil light and am about ready to hard wire it to ground and pretend I am driving my old 944 which did not have one of these gems. Where can I learn more about the circut board problem? Dealer? what is the cost and how tough is it to replace?
Mucho thanks dude! Doug

Doug, as a automotive tech i get tech bulletins, read your post and remember reading about your problem. Call a dealer, ask about the circuit board and cost to replace,I have never charge one, maybe someone on this board knows how.weigh your options,

good luck

Cool

Any chance I can see a copy of that bulletin?
Thanks for the heads up. It seems like it would explain my situation. I am going to ask Al at Parts Heavan in Hayward if he has ever heard of it tomorrow. Any resources on decyphering the factory wiring diagrams? Thanks again for the help. It is much easier to weigh the options when you know exactly what it is your dealing with.

Steve: Thanks for the post. This explains my light staying on whin I shut down a cold engine and then restart. Could I find this bulletin in one of the "bulletin books" (that I have never looked into) ??? --Roy--

Steve,
Thanks again for the heads up, I was able to get a copy of the Porsche Service Bulletin and it talks about the grounds between the engine and the chassis not being equal and it damaging the circut board. Says to check the grounds at several points and then if that does not fix the problem to replace the circuit board. YOUR THE MAN! Thank you!

By the way, how do we as Porsche Rennlist Members get our hands on ALL the Porsche Service Bulletins for our cars. This should be in print someplace on the net? I have a 93 968 and I would sure like to have EVERY service bulletin that has come out related to my car. Doug
