Does the tachometer bounce a little while it's cranking, or is it completely dead?

Have you tried swapping or jumping the DME relay?

Have you tried to wiggle or unplug/plug back in your reference sensor plugs? They often develop a very weak connection and it seems just wiggling the plugs gives them a better contact.

Also, how does your injector harness look? Is it frayed? If one of your injector leads is grounding itself out then none of them will work.

+1 on jiggling the reference sensor plug if you don't have a tach bounce. Have to do that with the track car on occasion. Probably have to replace the harness sometime soon.

I'll try that out Monday! The ref sensors are less than a year old but I want to get this thing running again if only for the meet-up and then get it ready for the rebuild. I'll keep you all updated

Were any Atlanta area 944 owners on this list at the NASA road Atlanta event today? I was flagging corner 2 (newbie). Great experience, but they kept me busy. Did not get chance to say hi.

9mil - unfortunately not. My low beams quit on me yesterday, and I made the mistake of trying to diagnose the issue once I got home. I now have fog light / driving light assemblies on the garage floor and my dash partially disassembled.

Finally got to work on the car today, the DME relay is new and when trying to start the car I didn't get the tach needle to bounce. Is it supposed to?

Yes, the tach needle should be slightly bouncing while cranking.

Check your reference sensor (aka crank position sensor on the flywheel) plugs and make sure the connection is good. 9 out of 10 times they just need to be wiggled around or unplugged and plugged back in, to get the connection working again.

Does your car have a factory alarm?

Hey guys! Thanks to everyone who was able to make it out to the meet despite the rainy drives getting there, and the rain break halfway through the meet... If it weren't for all you guys this type of event would not happen! I was super happy to see so many cars show up!! I will have to do a final count after reviewing my pictures. I am still recovering from our Tail of the Dragon run today (just got home) so I will try to upload and post all my photos from the meet and the Dragon run tomorrow.
Thanks again!
