No one is being disrespectful. If the intent is to sell a car and a discussion is opened wherein comments are solicited then any comment which may help sell the car is warranted.

Does that answer your question?

As to your suggestion that the market will decide, who could argue that? Of course it will. Just maybe more slowly one way than another.

If this ''can'' help. I know Luis, and I know the car. Sorry Pontifex about your price comment, but you are wrong.

Luis (DHC6) as put a ton of cash on the car... parts, labour, etc...

Probably twice the price he is asking.

Yes, I know, you can't put value on ''general maintenance'' but...

Pontifex, after your years of experience playing with these cars, would you prefer buying an S2 / project car for 7K and having to put 20K (paint is not included in this price)
or buying one for 15K and only have a pro fix those chips?

Your car is beautiful Luis, hope you find the right buyer. As a right buyer, not a sucker, but somebody who as ''been there'' and knows the value.

How much did you sell me that euro bumper again Pontifex? (the one with the bumped bumper with scrap paint).

Spending money his way too easy on those cars.

Eric, I think that's a stretch. His post came across negative the first time I read it, but I don't think it was intentioned that way.

Let discuss more important things, like how great this car is:

Wow, I went to work for a few hours and it's already on to page two. First thank you guys for the support, and help. I appreciate your comments. Second I guess not every ones definition of helpful advise/opinions is the same. As I have mentioned, what I feel it's worth and what the market (or other people) think it's worth are two different things. I feel in general our cars are worth more then current asking prices, and it is a shame when some people put down the prices, for what ever reason.

Also I said it earlier, but I really don't classify this as a modded 944, how many guys stuff V8s into their 44s and charge a heap of money for them? That to me is much more a "modded" 44 then what mine is. I have kept what the car was all about intact and only did what Porsche would have done if it didn't create the 968. So again, this isn't just some 944 with a bunch of radome parts stuck onto it and I am asking high money for some randomly modded car.

As for the millage, well I believe at this point in our cars lives millage is subjective. If every component has been replaced or reconditioned, does it really have the ware and tear of high milage? Most of the major components of my car were either rebuilt or replaced over the last 3 years. So millage is not really relevant. If nothing has been maintained or replaced then millage is a concern, but I don't know how a car could last this long and this many miles with out having some major work done to keep it running in good shape.

Lastly, maybe it's just me, but these cars are not simply cars to us, are they? They are cars we all work on, put our time and money into them, why because it's not a modded civic, it's a Porsche!

and actually I have to correct the millage, the chassis has 190miles, and the other components are in KM, not miles.

I can't tell you how many times I've looked at those two pictures today.
