Default Transaxle Oil - German Brands

Hello,

I recently acquired a 944S and have gone through the usual research regarding Transaxle Oil. I have gone through several searches regarding the topic and Brands like Red Line,Swepco,Valvoline, Mobil 1 has been mentioned.

Has Anyone tried Brands like FEBI, Pentosin or even the BMW MTF-LT2 which is a 70W-80 grade?

My second question is does anyone know the OEM part number for Transaxle Oil for the 944? The number 999.917.546.00 I read are for cars 1997>.

Thanks for all your help

Manuel

Febi & Pentosin are great oils and sold at NAPA these days. They probably have a grade suitable for our trans but I imagine 90%+ of us use either Redline or Swepco as they have been proven time and again to give good results.

Make sure it's gl4, no gl-5 allowed! I run redline in my transaxle.
