1987 944 Turbo Wide Body Race Car Chassis FS
Hi,
I have a race car roller for sale.
This car has a lot of very nice features for someone who is looking to build a 944 or 944 turbo race car.
The front fenders are fiberglass and are wider than stock by about 1". The rear quarters are fiberglass and are wider than stock by about 3 inches and are attached by 1/4 turn fasteners. The rear inner fenderwells have been extended to meet the wide body (as seen in picture 4).
The spare tire well has been cut out for easy installation and removal of the transmission. It currently has a stock gas tank, but is set up for easy addition of a fuel cell if you would like. The rear deck has a sheet metal cover which is screwed in place for easy access to the fuel tank area. (as shown in picture 7)
The front bumper, headlight panel, and hood are all fiberglass.
The cage is one made by Hanksville Hotrod and includes the nascar door bars on both the driver and passenger sides. It has been installed professionally.
The side skirts are custom made. They extend down almost to the ground and a 911 style side jacking plate has been added to lift the car with a standard jack without taking off the side skirts.
The suspension are components from an 87 turbo. They include stock lower control arms, spindles and hubs in the front. The rear is stock lower arms. Not much else is holding up the car. The wheels are just some roll around wheels that I had sitting around.
The chassis has never been hit or have any other issues.
The fire system shown in the pictures is not included. The hood needs better reinforcement. It could use a paint job. It is sold with a bill of sale, no title.
I am looking for $2475 for it. I would sell it for $500 less if you do not want any of the suspension, just the tub. So, I am basically selling it for the price of the cage and the tub.
Thanks
Ed

Price is low because it has to go. We lost storage. If it is not gone in a week I am going to take the FG widebody parts off of it, cut the top off to get the cage out, and scrap the rest.
Thanks
