Post What would you turbo guys do?

Guys,

I'm still probably going to sell my car, just not for the same reasons as before. I've found a 86 951 for relatively inexpensive.

Here is the description. I'm becoming a believer that it doesn't matter how many miles on are a Porsche as long as it's been properly taken care of. I drove a 944 the other night with 195K miles and it drove as strong and stronger then mine with 117K. Anyway, heres the info. Would you buy?

~~~~~~~
silver with black. new tires,head gasket. valve seals, tbelt,waterpump,stainless brake lines. no dash cracks.seats very nice. very minimal wear on drivers side seat.never wrecked!nice car and clean. paint is fair, drives great.140k ~~~~~~~
Thanks,
Matt
Matt,
When was the last time the clutch was replace? That's an even uglier job than on a na 944, all that crazy turbo exhaust(crossover pipe).
Matt,
Whatever you do, you had better not take too much time to think about it. You have just given a good looking car and the phone number to a bunch of enthusiasts... not a smart move. This is a lesson that I too learned the hard way.
Well, I figured no one would buy it out from under me. But you are right, I'm sure someone may. I had thought about that... Oh well.
The answer: "Depends".
What's the price? And what maintenance has been done to date?
How about the cv joints? I bought mine with 85k on it and the cv's needed a repacking pretty badly. Rotors? Pads? Shocks? Can you test drive the car?
I think engine and clutch problems would probably cost you the most time & money. So check those areas out. Everything else you can pretty much repair on the side of the road with sticks and twigs.
Matt,
Buy it!
I have not driven my NA since I bought the 951.
The 951 is truly a beautiful machine.
