Post 17mm plug below oil filter

Does anyone know what's behind the 17mm plug just below the oil filter and to the right of the oil relief valve.

I have a small oil leak on from it on my S2 and want to know if its just a seal that needs replacing.

Thanks

John

On my '88 8-valve car, it's just a plug. Nothing special about it. It's probably where the lines to the turbo go on a turbo car. Make sure it's not your oil pressure sender leaking. It's right there as well and is prone to leaking. Mine was. But you should be fine taking it off and throwing on a new sealing washer.

Yup.. that is where the line to the oil cooler attaches on the turbo cars.
