u like red taillights?
K, most of us have seen the all red taillights, they cost like 150 plus shipping. In a search to make my car's **** look better, i went to pep boys and bought some stuff called "lens repair tape". I got red and put it over the amber lenses. It looks so damn nice, the red matches the other lenses perfectly, all my lenses around are now red. It took 2 minutes to install, cost 5 bucks, and looks incredible. email me for more questions, and i'll post pics soon.

Don't be so hard on the kid. I've never even heard of doing that (I'm out of the rice loop) but I DO remember hearing that the company that was posted here a few weeks ago who sells all red tail lights for the 944, does so by taking OEM and coating it with something red. What that something is, I don't know. How do we know it's not this same stuff? Besides, they weren't 150 if I recall, they were 400 and that's outrageous.

It was a bit harsh. Sorry.. I'm just a little on edge about people cutting corners. I have seen some horrid **** lately as I dig deeper and deeper into my rebuild, and it is costing me time and money that should not need to be spent.
Transparent paint could work. My idea was to get a bad set of old lenses, remove the red lens (carefully) and replace the amber with it. Should work. They are the same size.
I was just saying that most of that tape is used as a temporary fix for when you bust out a tail light and you are waiting for the new one. (however, in the case of a POS, you just leave the tape on until it falls off.)
Again.. sorry for being a crab ***!!
OH... and I didn't say spend the money foolishly... just do it right. That includes doing the research to find a cheaper ($$) part that is not of cheaper quality. I do that often, but I don't (fill in choice phrase here) rig it all up.

ok, re transparant paint.
We've got a product here in the UK which "Blacks out" the lights I believe it comes in other colours green and red.
we have to have a seperate red reflector if we black em out.
The paint is'nt anything special all it is is thinned down cellulose paint. So if you can or have acces to a red paint and a drop of thinners, you can spray them yourself and do the same job.

Rice? I think not...
Go check out the 951 cup cars.
All the 951 cup cars I've seen had all red tail lights.
On a red car it looks awesome, undecided on my white car.

No to mention that the 968 had all red lenses...
Daly, looking forward to the pics. Are they online? Get the URL (http://) and then click "image" when you are posting and type it in. It's easier to cut/paste the URL.
-Matt
PS
Email them to me if you can't put them online, I'll do it.
EDIT:
You can buy them here if you are rich. http://www.clubautosport.co.uk/
Keep in mind they only do to OEM what one of us is trying to figure out how to do...
