1982 Porsche 944 vs. 1981 Datsun 280ZX

Noone could tell me anything? I'm not quite sure I understand? If by this you're saying I'm stubborn or close minded, you are HORRIBLY mistaken
OH, and congrats on graduating with high honours. I will go a little further to say, I wish you happiness more so than success, because despite popular belief they are not so closely related...
Renntag951: I didn't ALMOST apologize, I did, I made a good effort to resolve the matter at hand. If you'd like us to 'put the gloves on' I'm all for it, but not here on a PUBLIC board where it disrupts the rest of you...

Rob, I had nothing against you, but you're being very stupid. Pretty much all you have added to this discussion is attacking EVERYBODY! Why? You attacked Ganja Porsche a couple of times, attacked Lamah for his spelling, attacked Lemon Yellow 87 n/a twice in a row about what? His car's color and YOUR ideas about Yellow's income! But then again you DID justify it all "Hey, I wasnt trying to cause a stir, I just challenged some of the claims about performance that people have made. I am not the first person to do this. " And THEN: "You have a long way to go buddy. Do your parents smoke ganja with you? See you on Jenny Jones soon!" Not only did you attack Ganja about his name & beliefs AGAIN, you insinuated that parents who smoke pot w/their kids are bad parents! I hope you never, ever smoked cigs or drank alcohol w/your parents because you're F*CKED!
THEN: "By the way, I was a little like you when I was younger, but I grew up."
Yeah, grew up into an ***!
FINALLY: "What a waste of my time arguing back and fourth with an 11th grader!" First you insult Ganja (and others), then pretend to be ABOVE IT ALL!!! I'm glad you're so grown up to tell all us little children how to properly communicate! I suppose now you'll HAVE to tell me where I've gone wrong . . .

Rob glass, Lemon yellow is indeed a factory color.

Edit:
Oh and Ganja, craig...the 1996 Camaro V6 has 200hp. http://carpoint.msn.com/Vip/Engines/...amaro/1996.asp
The '93 on the other hand has 160hp. http://carpoint.msn.com/Vip/Engines/...amaro/1993.asp
The '93 runs 0-60 in 9.4 seconds according to cartest2000 (cartest.exe).
The '96 (auto) runs 0-60 in 7.8 seconds according to the same source.
For the '93 auto vs. manual, the auto was actually .4 seconds quicker.
Just throwin some FACTS into the mix.
I suggest nobody else talk **** without FACTS.
By the way mr. Glass, the G-tech is a very accurate device. Numerous people have taken it to the 1/4mi track and watched it record times very similar to those that the timing devices at the track did. I'm talking .1-.2 second error MAX. Trap speeds were off, but only because at the 1/4mi track they average the speed of the last 100 feet. while the G-tech takes the actual speed at the end of the 1/4.
Also according to the cartest program (a program which I've found to be fairly accurate for most cars), a 1986 944 N/A with a test weight of 2600lbs did 0-60 in 7.5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 16.0 seconds at 87.3mph.
I raised the redline to 7000rpm to facilitate hitting 60mph (61 to be exact) in 2nd gear. That's with stock 147hp and 140lb/ft of torque and 215/60 R15 tires.
Raising the HP and torque by 13 lb/ft yields..
0-60 of 7.1 seconds and 1/4mi of 15.6 @ 87.6mph.
I did not change the peak hp and peak torque numbers...raising both of those due to craig's free flow exhaust would likely increase performance times slightly.
Craig...if your car weighs 2600lbs with you in it and gas, then yes you do run 0-60 in 7 seconds. A quarter mile of 15 seconds I dont know...but I remember your trap speeds were about 88mph.
The above I accept as fact because I trust the program I used, those that don't...well I guess you'll never know how fast/slow craig's car is.
One more reason to buy a 951...you get raised out of all this muck.
Those who want to download it go to http://members.rennlist.com/adrial/cartest.exe
Oh...and I think they did make a few '82 944's...I'm not 100% positive on that though.

Hmmm..... How quickly we forget when the feet are put in the fire. Four or five posts up you make a reference to renntag951 where you try to clarify some kind of bogus apology. Then you say well we may have to put the gloves on. That's what I meant when i said you took it a step further. I'm sure other readers will back me up on that statement. So what now??? I thought you wanted to have coffee or something, and I just happen to be free. Please send directions so we can meet up maybe in the middle so that you are not put out or anything. Looking forward to hearing from you Craig!

Ganja, what's up with the marijuana lab that you have a link to. I thought that was illegal. I wouldnt think a child prodigy school-minded boy like you would do such a thing.
*******Question to all"is marijuana legal to sell over the net" just curious.

Ahh...Just like the good old days with Craig and MideastMafia...Hell, I sit here, 1984 N/A with a few mods that can do 60 in the mid to low 8 second range but I respect the car and never road race. Stoplight Grand Prix driving is for kids with way too much testosterone. Go to a PCA autocross event, join SCCA. Learn how to drive safely and improve your knowledge of what the car can and cannot do. The 944 is not a dragster. Treat it like one and the repair bills will mount quickly...clutches come to mind....Most modern cars will smoke a N/A 944 from 0 to 60, like it or not. Next year Neon is introducing a hopped up version that they say will do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. No misprint...5.9. They are calling it the fastest car you can buy for under 20 grand. I was fortunate enough to be able to take an early retirement and move to Arizona, the land of rust-free cars!!! (Say Amen, brother....) Out here I can play with my car year round. I can make it pretty, keep it tuned and have something I am proud to be seen in. There are miles of open rural roads and relatively high speed limits. Driving well down a long series of twisties is much more exciting than going straight until the next light changes..
Chill guys....
I have said it before...We all own a car that has practically been disowned by the company that built it. We are bound together because we like its style. We come in all sizes, and ages, and the car comes in a number of iterations, each with its strenghs and weaknesses. Let's at least be civil to each other. We're here to have fun!!!
Bob S. (not a cleric but sounds like one in Rennlist)
BTW...I also own a VW Passat...Wouldn't exactly call that an entry level car either....
