I got a muffler welded on by a shop, cost me 130 installed. it was the only muffler the shop said would fit. the guy told me the pipes have to be both centred for the exhaust to fit properly. anyways, it is louder now than stock, at idle it sounds nice but at higher rpm is is a bit loud inside the car and kinda reminds me of a friends honda prelude although not as loud or annoying. For the price i'm still happy, it's not crazy loud and does sound pretty deep at lower rpms.

the muffler was called sweet talker, it's a muffler made for Minute muffler in canada. I think it's usually put on v8s.

i can post a sound clip tomorrow. it sounds nice at low rpms but at around 3k it sounds like **** and then it quiets down again at higher rpms. oh well. it's not that big of a deal to me, it doesn't effect the driving.

Still a bit loud at that rpm range, but way better than no cat/resonator and a Maxi-Flow or Thrush.
Does your 944 have the 3-inch Lindsey racing pipe on it?

Thrush and flowmaster are chambered mufflers. Magnaflow and Borla are straight through with baffles and packing. The cheap straight through muffler is a Dynomax race magnum.

Mufflers are definitely a personal preference item and I prefer straight throughs. I do like the new Dansk mufflers in my 996. I’m not in love with them but its a nice improvement over rusty cracking stock mufflers.

Funn944 posted this back in 2013. I don't think they're active here these days. You might try doing a PM to them.
