Default Historic plates?

Hey guys,

Trying to get my car back on the road again.

I currently have 2 mufflers (1 in the place of the CAT) and I would like to not have to pass emissions.

I am considering getting historic plates. No emissions, I don't drive it enough to really worry about the miles. But the registration form says I have to use the car in exhibits and educational purposes only, or $500 fine and jail. lol

I have seen people with historic plates that clearly do not take their cars to historic exhibits.

Any advice? Should I just give it a try? Anyone who lives in NJ know? Any other type of registration that will allow me to avoid emissions?

Thank you for any help
-Brett

I'd give it a try. I have historic plates on my car and I just try to avoid areas that are infested with cops so they don't see me driving every day. I doubt most of them care anyways.

cops really don't care. well no one in our department cares and i've never cited anyone for driving on historic plates. i have historic plates on my 944. don't drive more than 1000 miles a year though.

I wouldn't worry about it. I finally got them for my MB SL and it just turned 30. Next year the 930.

Jersey btw.
