New to Rennlist 944 Owner
Hey, finally made a Rennlist account. I have/DD/own a 1986 944 NA. Great Volkswagen I tell you. It has been my restoration of sorts since late June of last year, I used to have a 1983 model which I fixed up, then sold after realizing I liked the late model more. Would be very cool to meet up with local 944 guys, haven't really met anyone out here, have lived in Brentwood for about 4 or 5 years now. I'm in the Navy Reserve so I do travel semi-frequently. Here's a short run-down of some history and things done to my car, withstanding repairs and maintenance items I've replaced:
California Car, bought July 2012 in Sacramento, around 122k miles, salvage title due to cracked head, PO swapped in a 84 NA engine.
Guards Red, black leather interior, rear wiper delete.
Re-sprayed in July 2012. Lovely windshield banner from Van Svenson. Clear Polycarbonate Fog Light Lenses; 8mm rear wheel spacers. A/C converted to R-134a. Shift boot is "carbon fiber" from only944 Also from only944 is Kyle's Shifter kit w/thrust bearings and his new short shifter linkage. 968 front and rear sways, 26.8 mm hollow 16mm rear.
Lower suspension caster block brace by Design1Racing
Strut tower brace by KLA
FRWilks dual race-chip with glove compartment switch 7,000 RPM limit
K&N Air Filter
Clewitt Engineering Spark Wires
Lindsey Racing Red Vacuum lines
Weltmeister Throttle Cam
Lindsey Racing Black Braided Fuel Hose kit
250# front Eibach Springs with Hyperco helpers, rear 150# w/23.5 mm torsion bar; adjustable threaded coilovers by Ground Control with Koni yellow sport struts and Koni race shocks, single adjustable for rebound
16x7 Front 16x8 Rear White Phonedials, painted Turbo Cup style by member Dimi 944

Hi Gaw...
IMHO, I find it interesting that although the Pelican 944 Board started 3 years earlier, the Rennlist 944 Board has nearly triple the posts now...
To me, the funniest post on PP is the first ever post:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...as-smells.html
The OP asks his first ever post about "944 and gas smells" and is never heard from again..
Guess he sold it that night.
