OT: My car runs ?% of the time?

1.5 years and 24,000 miles on my '88 (bought with 107,000 miles). I second what Thaddeus said... My wife's '96 Windstar has been much less reliable with less than half the mileage.
Done when I bought it (based on inspection):
-Belts & Rollers (no history on this item)
-Radiator
-AC Compressor + R134 conversion
-All rotors and pads
-All drive belts and fluids
Done 'cause they just came up (no stranding):
-Cam cover reseal
-Oil cooler seals
-Rear wiper motor (that was a waste or money)
-Airflow resistor pack for inside fan
Done 'cause I wanted to and like to DE:
-Blau CD & Bazooka bass tube
-Upwards of 10 sets of brake pads
-Many quarts of ATE Super Blue
-RedLine Rennsport bolt-in roll bar
-Schroth 6-points with BK quik-clips
-Halon extinguisher
-Alignment with a bunch more camber
-Couple sets of MXX3's, one set of Blizzaks
If you ask my wife, there's more (she actually keeps a running total on $$). Considering what I paid for it, the joy of driving it every day, the ability to take it to the track and drive it home each time... I've never been happier. I'm sure all the folks here pay a lot of attention to their rides, listen to them closely, and check all the essential bits often enough. That said, I feel more confident in this car (capable car, sturdy build, and darn reliable for a 12-year-old with 100k+miles) than I would in a newer vehicle.
Great car, great engineering, needs one to pay a little attention to it... small price to pay.
Keep the shiny side up,
