Promax Chips are reasonably good for the price. They do really need 93 octane (US) fuel though. Remember that power gains are dependent on spark advance and some additional fuelling. The stock MAPS are based on regular 91 octane fuel, and the timing maps are already reasonably pushed due to the knock retard system built into the DME.
So, to cut it short, there is really not much to be gained in peak power, and even less if you only use 91 fuel.
The Promax does "feel" a little more responsive in the part throttle mapping, mostly because the ignition timing is pushed quite a bit. I noticed that there was quite a few more engine knocks detected (using a counter hooked up to the DME) using the Promax chips. So the DME is compensating for the increased timing by retarding the ignition.
You will find that most benefit is gained on cold days, as the DME pushes the timing back to near stock on hot days.

You're welcome, we appreciate the thanks. I'm sure it wouldn't be worth it, but you could always ship the car to us to work a little magic. We get cars sent here from Canada, SC, FL, OH, etc...
