Power steering? I have found these to be stiff at times but not impossible. A strap wrench comes in handy if something like this is good and stuck.

I had no idea what the original post was asking until I read Joel's post. If you don't know what to call it, why are you trying to open it?

If you want to top off your power steering fluid, please note the 944 uses ATF, not traditional power steering fluid.

That should just pull up, its like the cap on an old milk bottle, its attached on one side in order to retain it.

Technically...that is on the right! Everything on a car is oriented from the drivers seat perspective. I was clueless on the question and missed the pictures too.

Some cars had the update washer tank with the screw on cap. Likely what she has.
