Default difference in valving of koni yellow inserts vs struts?

Does anyone know if there's a difference in internal valving between the koni sport yellow inserts (the ones that require cutting & gutting your old strut housings) vs the koni sport yellow strut assemblies (the ones that are complete strut assemblies, NLA)?

My application is '87 951. I have a pair of front koni yellow strut assemblies, and I want to replace them soon, and since only the inserts are available I wanted to know if the car will handle differently.

I'm not talking about factory m030 parts - I know those are valved differently.

Thanks!

You can still use the full assemblies. I just sent mine to true choice koni racing services for full rebuild. Price is $170 each plus any parts that may be needed. That includes blasting and repainting.

I know . If the valving is different, then I'll keep the struts and have them rebuilt. If the valving is the same as the inserts, I can get inserts for the blown original boge struts.

Here is a number for Koni in Kentucky - they should have all specs:

859-586-4100 option 51. Service
Center hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm EST

Let us know what you find out.

They're the same according to Paragon. Just got a complete coilover setup.

Cool, I'll give Koni a call when I can break away from work. Paragon will be my plan B.

I was under the assumption that Koni offered a lifetime warranty on their sport series. Maybe you should check on that before plunking down money for a rebuild.

I don't think normal wear is covered under the warrantee, though. And I'm not the original purchaser. I'll ask!
