Post Synthetic oil weight

I have just bought my first Porche, a 1988 944S. The PO used synthetic oil and I plan to do the same. I live in Nova Scotia, and the manual indicated 10/30 to be used in my temperature range. I bought MOBILE 1 10/30. I have read through this site and it seems everyone is using heavier weight oil. Is anyone using the 10/30? IS there any problem with the 10/30?

I use mobil synth, 10-30. I go from 10 below to 90 plus in temp.. It seems fine.. Just change it religiously every 3000. and a filter. you should be fine.. heavier wieghts have a better surface tennsion. thus better protection.. but 10-30 should do you OK.

Clint,

Where are you in NS? I'm in Nfld and am moving to the Moncton area in the near future, I bought my first P car in January, an "86 951. Perhaps we should meet? There aren't many of our cars in this area.

Regards,
ColinM
