Post 944 Rebuild

Ok, I know a Motor rebuild is not the funnest or easiest thing so I'm not asking for a step by step. I have an 88 944na with 150k miles. I believe i'm getting whats called blowby. There is a mist of oil on the under side of my hood. I think this is caused by combustion forcing preasure around the not-so-tight rings and or seals, Right?

I'd like to pull the motor and do a rebuild on the 2.5liter, or rebuild a 968 3liter and put it in its place. I could have the work done, but what's the fun in that? So what are some hints you guys can give me before I'm in over my head with this big project.

Thanks,

Bob

Sell it for parts or as a whole and buy a turbo. That was my solution and I'm much happier now.

Hmm blow by is internal. and will kill power badly.. but should not put a mist under your hood. also You will smell the gas in the oil.plus it will thin out..
