Red face A/C Noise

What's that screeching noise when the Air condition switch is on after I start the igntion? The sound disappears as soon as the car starts. Would it be the condensor motor goining bad. Does it need lubrication? I have my original A/C on 924S 87. I had to recharge the freon last summer for the first time. Any help would be appreciated.

Loose belt, to check if that is the problem,, carefully take a bar of soap. Place it against it while running.. If that is to dangerous for you they make a spray on dressing.. either way after you apply it see if the sound is still there.. if it is then it is not the belt.. If it goes away I recommend replacement of the belt soon..
