I'M WITH AHMET! I STARTED READING (USING) THIS BOARD TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE 944 I HAD JUST BOUGHT.

BECAUSE OF THIS BOARD I DID NOT HAVE TO CHANGE THE HEAD GASKET TO GET RID OF THE OIL IN MY COOLANT, WAS TOLD HOW TO STOP MY CRUISE CONTROL FROM SURGING, AND FOUND OUT THAT TWO DIFFERENT NOISES WERE OK.

I RECOMMEND THE BOARD BE REDESIGNED. IF MY FELLOW BOARD READERS AGREE TO A DIFFERENT FORMAT, MAYBE IT WILL HAPPEN.

HERE'S MY SUGGESTION, HAVE THE BOARD BROKEN UP LIKE THE MANUALS IE;

BODY
ELECTRICAL,
MOTOR,
SUSPENSION,
ETC.
FORUMS WOULD BE FOR TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

THEN HOW BOUT A BOARD FOR ALL OTHER 944 QUESTIONS?

IF PEOPLE THINK THIS IS BETTER/OR WORSE, LETS START A NEW POST.

My 2 cents: I have a hard time with the part about demeaning women. The girls look to be past the age of consent, they got paid, so I have no issues with that.
My problem is a little more fundamental. My wife thought I was reading a porno mag and gave me a piece of her mind about the infantile nature of grown men....blah, blah, blah. She's right, would I want children collecting the mail and seeing that? No. Do I intend to impose my views on others? No, I just won't get the catalog any more.
Now if anybody has copy of the Abercrombie and Fitch catalog and is willing to send it to me in a plain, brown wrapper.......

Something I thought was interesting...

This post by Windward go NO (ZERO, ZILCH) replies in the 911 Turbo board. Does that mean us 944 owners have too much time on our hands?
http://forums.rennlist.com/scripts/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000053

Then we complain about stupid posts being posted?

Hmm...

Well, one last word (really: nothing more in this thread out of me): I took offense because I AM raising 3 kids, 2 boys and a girl. And the catalog did come in the mail, and they did see it. And I had to deal with it.

I want my daughter to understand that her value as a human being is not tied solely to how she looks, but her intellect, character, etc., and I want my sons to understand the same thing about women: that they're people, not tootsie-toys.

When the media (ads, etc) indulge in this stuff gratuitously, it makes my job as a parent harder. What a pain, to have to screen my car-parts catalogs, as well as the TV and everything else coming out of the mass culture... I don't think it's too much to ask that I not have to do a parental intervention
before I can look at spoilers and ignition upgrades for my car....

Eventually, my children will be old enough to make distinctions on their own and I won't have to worry. I will be glad when that happens because I live in a society where the media happily panders to the lowest common denominator of taste, intellect, and sensitivity.

Amen to that Thaddeus. It's good to read about a dad that cares so much. FYI I wasn't talking about the replies about the mag cover, etc., I was talking about the original replies from Windward. But no matter like you said this thread is over.
