Default fan blowing on low when car is in acc/started normal?

So I noticed if I turn the car to acc or I start it the fan is blowing on low speed, and I haven't figured out how to turn it off. The fan speed is at 1, the a/c button is not pressed, and the circulate button is pressed when this happens. Is this normal or am I missing something here?

does it run all the time until the car gets to a certain temp, then run on full speed?

If yes, it's likely your coolant temp sensor (for the fans) has failed. You can test it as per the workshop manual in a water bath on the stove

If you are talking about the blower fan in the car, it is always on and can't be completely turned off. Designed to keep a flow of fresh air I imagine.

Yes, this is what I was referring to. Thanks for the clarification. I've never had another car do this so it's new to me.

Fara, thanks for trying to help.

Swing and a miss for me!

I thought you were referring to the radiator fans.

Veleno,

I can confirm what Eric says...once the car is started, the cabin fan turns on at a very low speed no matter what the switch settings. This is normal operation.

Thanks Der, now that I know it's normal I can stop wondering if it's a problem with the car!
