Question About The Auto Trans On My 86 944.
The Shifting Is Sluggish When Coming Out Of A Stop.
After That It Is Pretty Normal.Other Than Slowed Down To Make A turn And Coming Back Up To Speed Again.
I Tried Changing The Fluid And Filter With Not Much Of A Difference.
Does Anyone Know Of A Way To Make An Adjustment To Correct The Shifting In What Would Be First Gear On A Manual Trans ?
Thanks

FWIW.....is this car new to you? Did you really want/need an auto tranny car? I (like many I am afraid) could tell you horror stories about auto tranny 944s. I went through two trannies in two years with limited use and no hard running. The manual trannies have much better track record and are much cheaper to replace.
I loved my first 1983 944, purchased from the original owner (female lawyer) with all receipts blah blah blah....except for the auto tranny that hated me as much as I learned to hate it.
My advice, if that auto tranny is functional, get out from under the car now and get a manual one.
Not trying to be a @$$ just my .02 worth.

perhaps you have some sticking shift solenoids.. did you wipe and inspect the valve body when you removed the transmission pan to change the fluid and filter? did you put a meter to any of the solenoids when you had it apart?
