just swap the dme/afm from your 85 into the 89. theres not really any difference in programming except to take care of compression ratio change for 89.

I read about it on Clarks Garage and it said something about the injectors wont fire due to the higher voltage and it could mess up the dme! However after comparing the two schematics the only difference is the early dne shows a couple volts higher at the afm pin so I don't know I think i'm just going to plug it in and see what happens! The clutch blew up today in the 85 so what do I have to lose besides another day of work! I have no transportation now I went through 2 porsches in 5 days It can't get much worse can it?

The DME/AFM change-over is the same as the interrior change-over. 85 and older have the early DME. 85.5 and newer have the late DME.

You can safely plug in any 85.5 and newer DME into your car for testing. Do not plug in an early DME without also changing the AFM.
