I have recently purchased a 85.5 944 and need to find a good 944 shop in north Alabama. The car runs great, and the belts were replaced at Fayette Imports in Fayette, Ga. late last year. I would like someone who knows these cars to take a look at it, and retension the belts. I know I should have done this before I paid for the car, but once I drove it I couldn't resist.

Hi Kirby, I've been lookin for a porsche mechanic myself, I end up doing the work myself anyway, but it's still nice to know of one. There is one guy in Huntsville, Pauls Automotive.

Somebody told of one once, but if your looking for that really knows Porsches inside and out you will have to drive to Birmingham. There are several places down here.

The owner of Eurasian is active in the local PCA, I met him at a DE in which he was helping run the event, some PCA members I met said that Eurasian is where they take there cars.
So no personal experience ( I do my own work )just heard some good things.

I have used them several times. They are really good the guy that owns the place is Bill Mitchel. He is located in downtown Birmingham. I have heard that there is a waiting list to get work done by them. He put in my new clutch when I first bought my car. His number is 205-251-9263.
The other place that is here in Birmingham is world Class Auto. They are located in Irondale which is on the east side of Birmingham. Their number is 205-969-6599. I haven't used them for major work, but they do work on Porsches.
