Andy, Denni, good job. Although I hate to say it, sometimes it is just plain ol beautiful and effective to fight fire with fire (no pun intended Andy ).

Unfortunatley, the Ins. company will want you to go with the cheapest of the 3.. so you need the shop you want to do the work to be the cheapest. Or be willing to shell the extra bucks out your self. Talk directly to your agent and demand for the shop you want to do the work.. most times it can be worked out. IF not, may perhaps time for a new agent.

My agent is very lenient as I did some computer work for them last year. I pay $900 bux a year for full coverage insurance on my car. I'm 20 years old with 11 points (high school days dont ask) and they always have treated me well. This will be my first claim in 3 years and I better get the shop that I want to do the work!! I know this sounds bad as I have a clutch do for this car and would like to make this work out in my favor. I worked for a car dealership over the summer and I'm gonna have them write me a way high estimate and send that in. My agent just told me to get a estimates and fax the ones that I want the work done by.

Dan thats a great rate. What company are you with. My rate for a 968 at 34 years old is twice that. Make sure you take before pictures of the key mark that way if you ever go to sell it doesnt look like you had it repainted after an accident.

Sprewell17, it really depends on the location...
Where I live any (with state farm) any car under my mom's name costs $1000/year to insure.
She has no points and a an accident or 2 in the past 4 years...none of which her fault.
