Post painting centercaps

I was thinking about painting my centercaps to the true porsche colors. My 87 944 is just silver and black - and faded at that. Any suggestions as to what would be a good paint/clearcoat to use? I used Wurth silver spray paint to paint the rims and that worked good, but spray paint isnt gona work with such a fine painting job. I guess im basically asking what type of paint will stay on without fading? (eg. oil based, etc)...any advice is much appreciated.

I used model paint and it worked perfect. Get small brushes obviously.

I used automotive touch up paint, red, black, and gold. Looks great and it's lasted 2 years so far without fading.

After I painted mine, I baked them in our toaster oven to dry and harden the paint.

Here's a cool trick. Paint the caps silver with the Wurth paint with the clear-coat in it (comes in 1 can). After the silver is dry, have a rag with paint thinner ready; paint the raised/depressed areas with a black paint stick or spray paint; and then quickly wipe the cap free of black paint (with the rag) while the black paint is wet, leaving the black in the deeper recessed areas of the cap in tact. It's a little tricky, but mine look brand new.
Good Luck!

Can some of you post photos of your hand-paint and various other apporaches? It would give everyone a better idea of how they came out. By the way, can the factory painted/enameled centercaps from other years or other wheels be made to fit stock phone dials?
