A 968 turbo S (fully modified to a good 500hp on regular gas...no race stuff). Either that or a Boxster Turbo .
There really is no ultimate Porsche...I could go for one of every turbo model made..except the 931 I guess..the 951 is basically a better, slightly heavier version of the 931...and then a street legal GT1 and 959.

I'll take a street GT1... however.. the rear end would need a change.. not too keen on that.

Otherwise... my 951 after I am done.. or a GT3 cabriolet. (I know.. I'd have to make one.. wait... by dad is.. hope I am in the will!)

Hmmm, I am thinking:

'87 944-S
625#/850# Springs with valve matched shocks/struts
Huntley MAF and all the finishings
Test Pipe and Free Flow Cat Back
2 sets of Fikse 17x9 all around (dry/wet set)
GT LSD
8 pt welded cage (wheel well to wheel well)
Dry Sump and Accusump
Huntley Crank and Flywheel
Broadfoot Rear spoiler (everything in the trunk on the silver car - fuel cell/sheet metal/etc. . .)
Racing air dam and side skirts
Turbo rear valance
Tow hooks front and rear
Lifetime supply of ATE Super Blue, Zimmerman blanks and Hawk Blues
Lexan rear glass
Set of dem push em down thingies for the wipers
Autothority Short Shift kit

I think that would cover it. Maybe it will get there some day . . . yeah right

Thumbs up

Stumbled across this thread.

The TOP Porche is affordable:
1. Buy a 928-GTS ('92-'95) with a damaged engine.
2. Ship the car to DEVEK for a 6.5 liter 550 HP makeover with a suspension upgrade.
---> Under $30K if you buy it right. Should do 180-190 dependably. Plus, you can add a SC if you need more ... but see a shrink first.

Perhaps a Carrera GT. That would be my speed.

My dream Porsche would be none other than to see my 924na go down the road with all of the stuff i already own (paint, cables, stereo equip. etc) installed the way i want... Besides that keeping my dream small, i did like the pic of that yellow 944.

That car resides in Calgary now. I saw it about a month after that Excellence article in downtown Calgary. I drooled, approached the owner to ask about the car, and he was being a ***** and rolled up the window after a 1 word answer.

I'm working on building the ultimate right now... I'm getting close, and I can even drive mine in winter.

It's guys like these that give Porsche owners a bad reputation as being snooty & stuffy. He should've stuck to his 911 and left the 968 Turbo for a nicer person to buy...

Last known "sighting" for this car (friend of mine saw it) was a year and a half ago, on a hoist, blown engine =). From what the mechanics said at the dealership (where the car was), it was referred to as a "magazine car". Looks great on paper, but wasn't anywhere near a day to day car. There were lots of problems, and the car never ran right.

The car DOES look really cool though, those riveted fenders looks awesome in person.

Neat thread Matt, but white leather with blue piping? Been watching old Miami Vice reruns lately?

great cars, but I think Porsche took care of that one: the 959, the ultimate combination of styling, performance, technology and prestige. Now if they only had one in Lemon Yellow......(sigh)

How about the Porsche Schuppan 962 CR. Street legal version of the 962 race car.

I thought the McLaren was expensive at 1.6M.
