Default Moving to Indianapolis

Any of you guys in the area? I'm moving there soon. Heading up this weekend to look for a place to live. Tell me what you can about it!

Anything north of 465 is upscale potential big dollar housing ie zionsville, carmel, nobelsville, fischers, giest. downtown area interesting, lots to do like any large city. westside 38th to downtown (circle) and south of lilly iffy areas to live. get outside of 465 mostly decent areas. welcome to the great hoosier state.

There are quite a few of us around, welcome. We have a monthly gtg at a local watering hole - first wed of the month - mostly 944s and 928s.

Most of us live on the north side, good luck.

Sounds like you have to go a long way out for the nice places...I was hoping to live closer to the downtown area than that but I'll take it into consideration!

Welcome! As Sam mentioned, quite a few local 944 and water cooler types in the area. Nice thing about Indy is your're never really that far from anything. I am on the NE side (Fishers/Geist) and it's still only 20-30 mins to downtown.

If you're interested in meeting some of the locals, just send me your email address (PM if you want). And I will be sure to get you on the local email list.

Not sure your age, but be sure to take a look at Broad Ripple as well, for the local 20-30 something bar scene.

If you need help with a real estate agent, etc... just let me know.

As Sam and Ben mentioned, lots of great guys here in Indy, and a wealth of 944 information. I also live on the north side not far from Ben and Sam and I work down town. It takes about 35 min for me to get to my office. The North Side is nice, but there are a lot of great areas around Indy. Good luck in your search and let us know if we can help.

Hey Bob, just shoot me a PM with your email address and I will make sure Hans gets you on the list. For the most part we meet for beers on the first Wednesday of every month. But there is other stuff going on from time to time. I am pretty sure there are at least a couple of us planning on going to the FEST, definitely worth checking out. I think its's about 5 hours from here IIRC.

If you like cool Victorian neighborhoods and a little bit of the Bohemian touch, check out Woodruff Place. Used to live there, it's great.

John is a great guy and we are going to miss him. It was nice to have someone new to our group who was a true wrencher and not afraid to get in and get his hands dirty!
