Had a great time.
Waiting for the full report on the MAF replacement on Jim's car. Initial report was quite positive. If it works as claimed - it could be the single best engine mod available for these cars.

The 944 Fest was a "Grand Event".
It was good to see the usual suspects as well some new Fest-Heads. I was unable to attend last year, so I really appreciated the Fest this year.
Travis did a great job setting up the Fest this year. Thanks go out to all: Travis, all the sponsors, and most of all to the people who show up at the Fest every year and make the event so much fun.
The best part of the Fest was when I won the Rogue Tuning MAF kit. This was one time that was good to be the owner of an 8 valve n/a. Big thanks to Josh at Rogue for being so generous. Even better the Guys from R7 Racing and Restoration (Jason and his guys) installed the kit immediately after the raffle.
I have not driven the car that much (about 30 miles) since the conversion. Very preliminary report would be:
Smoother idle
Better throttle response
Noticeable increase in torque at all RPM
In general it feels "livelier"
After more seat time I will give a detailed report of my MAF experience. It may be a while, as the 944 has to compete for road time with the: TR6, TR250 and TR8. Top down motoring is preferred this time of year.

944Fest
My name is Jason. I am a long time lurker, but very infrequent poster to the RL boards. I own and operate R7 Racing & Restoration and have a few track cars that I run under the team name "Maniac Racing". I installed the MAF in Jim's car at the 944Fest with one of my crew mechanics, Brad. We also had help from Steve from 944Online.com and a couple drunk guys and some moths.
Despite being in the tent, hot and humid, no lights, no electric, no jacks, in the dark, aforementioned drunks and moths and really no notice to speak of, we got the kit in in under 3 hours. This seems like a lot, but honestly, considering we also put in a 4deg offset cam key and fired the car up on the first try, I felt good about our efforts. I would estimate it's a two-hour job with the key in your garage or workshop with all the tools and lighting.
I have since put in two others and have a third kit on my desk for my personal car. I will say that the changes I have seen have been pretty dead-on with what Josh claims on his site (www.roguetuning.com). There is a whole lot more punch available throughout the power band and specific increases at 2500-4500 rips.
I also ordered a logger and a tuner so i can see what the car is doing throughout the range and might try making some simple mods and tweaks as I get familiar with the interface and with the actual MAF.
I am curious to hear any more comments from Jim as to how his car is running since the meet. It's great when we can share little bits like this because there are so few ways to make these great little GTs go faster.
Anyway, nice to chat with you guys, a very belated thank you to Travis who puts on an awesome party and I hope to meet some of you guys in the future at some 944 events or maybe at the track. I'll be in the fast black car with the 8 Ball on it....
