Default 944 with 968 Spoiler(Pic Request)

Does anyone have a picture of a gold/kalahari beige 944 with a 968 spoiler?

Does anyone PREFER the 968 spoiler over our rubber 944 spoiler?
EBAY has a hatch & 968 wing avail for $800...
Is it a direct bolt-on swap to use a 968 hatch?

Thanks for the heads up Tank...
I LOVE the way it looks but fear messing with success..

Well now technically its not really a "968" spoiler as the ROW 944 S2 cars had it first!

that is correct.
the 944S2 we drove in Germany in 1991 was a factory supplied car, owned by the factory. It had the bridge spoiler also. When we encountered 'test' vehicles around Weissach we noticed the 968 test mules also carried the same spoiler, but when asking anyone there at Weissach or Zuffenhausen about them, was given the total silent treatment.
I believe it was there at Weissach or it may have been at the Nurburgring during tire testing, I first saw a 968 with a nomenclature affixed to the back that also read 944S3.
Of course today, we now know how that played out ......
I like the bridge spoiler and have it on one of my cars. It lends an air of individuality to it that separates it from the others with the more commonly seen rubber fin/ spoiler.

I don't know anyone who would prefer the foam spoiler over the 968 version.

Although the hatch will bolt up, you need to be aware there are some things you'll need to change to make it work correctly. The pin mounts on the 968 hatch don't have the seal on them - they have the seal on the body side. You can swap those out from your original hatch if they're in good condition, or you can buy the 968 gaskets instead (which requires drilling two holes for each one). The 968 also lacks the rubber gasket that goes across the back, which makes that gap look a bit bigger than what it is. You can take the gasket off your old hatch and use weatherstrip adhesive to attach it to the 968 hatch. That seal is normally pinched between the foam spoiler and the hatch keeping it in place which isn't there on the 968 hatch - hence the need for weatherstrip adhesive.

And lastly, you will no longer be able to get your key in the lock under the hatch - it hits the 3rd brake light.

I do like the 968 spoiler on the 944, I could be wrong but I believe that te 91 US car came with it, or at least the 3 cars that I have seen had it With that said, I think that it would be too much trouble for me to change the rear hatch on my S2. Not to mention, possible leaks, squeaks and other foreign noises...it's hard enough to manage those with the current set up. But that's just my opinion.

Am I the only one? I don't like the 968 mirrors, spoiler or handles on a 944...there I said it. IMO the originals go with the 944 shape, the 968 stuff distracts from it. They look the part on a 968 though.

OP, that's a nice looking spoiler, GLWS.

Rigth th 91 US/CDN 944 S2 model came with the 968s style spoiler less (the lower hatch intergrated brake ligths see pic).Btw 91 was the last year for the S2.

Im with you, i prefer my 944 to look like a period 944. That upgrade stuff is nice but its not the image i have in my head for my 944.

I agree with you about the 968 mirrors, but the S2/968 hatch looks right at home on a 944/951.

I'm undecided on the 968 door handles. My car came with them, but I'm not particularly fond of them or the original handles. Someone was working on MkII Golf door handles, which I think look better overall.

I REALLY regret not purchasing one of CPR's 968 spoiler kits when they were available!
