Possible new headlight upgrade?
After visiting the Toronto AutoShow this past week, something caught my eye
I luckily had a tape measure in my pocket and the head light measured at 7" round
This is a Mercedes designed Projector headlamp complete with a lens designed for use with HIDs, in a 7" round form factor.
Anyone with access to or information on these headlights would be greatly appreciated if you shared some pics of them not installed, or anything else you have to share.
Thanks.

The problem is the clearance at the rear. Projectors are quite a lot deeper at the back than regular bulbs and the slope of the headlight covers on our cars just doesn't leave any room for anything larger in there.

Ah cool, i haven't seen the white car before. His looks good, but i think mine fits a little better (he used OEM parts, i used cheaper aftermarket stuff).
It is actually really simple to do. My whole setup cost about $225 or so. The process is best described with pictures, so here's all mine:

I've had mine in for a couple of years with no issues.
There is a company that makes a headlight similar to the one in the OP for motorcycles, but they cost around $450 EACH. You will be much happier if you do it yourself, and it's not that hard....

It could be done. The main concern i would have about the GTS setup is the amount of heat put out by an HID setup. It could easily deform the clear plastic cover.

Yep, mounted that high, the projector will hit the metal cover and you'll be pointing your lights skyward!
I did my bi-xenon retrofit last spring and I'm still very happy with it. I used a pair of cheap ebay housings first, but later changed to Jeep Wrangler JK headlights because they have a very domed lexan lens and that gives you a little more room in the back.
Updated pics!
Cheers!
