Post WTB/Manual Steering Rack for '83 944.

It seems like i pop up here about once a year... and every time I do, it's looking for parts for someone elses car! Last year it was a head for my brother's 944. He since sold it, so this year it's for my MOM's 944. (same car, he just sold it to her).

Anyhow, this year's big emergency is the steering rack. From what she's been told it's not user-serviceable, and she needs a whole new one. Mechanic found one in Tennesee for a cost of over FIVE HUNDRED dollars... ouch.

Does anyone have an extra rack (& steering gear apparently) kicking around they want out of their garage? Please let me know... Post or email with your price and location!

Thanks!

You're right around the corner (somewhat) from Campbell-Nelson... they should have some used ones.

Otherwise, check with some other dismantlers, unless you're looking for new/rebuilt?

You wouldn't by chance have locations for those places would you, so I know where to search for the phone numbers... or are these all local to me?

Copy/paste each one into Google.com (search engine)... they all have websites that would include all the info you need.

Cool. Thanks man! Wasn't sure if they were exclusively brick and mortar places, or if they had online presences. I'll look into it.

Check with Advance Auto Parts. I read where someone got their's for around $250 new. Do a search here and at Pelican for the post. Lots of info available.
