Post Fault codes?

Does the 944 have fault codes for use in diagnosing drivability issues? I owned a 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo which used Bosch fuel injection and electronics. It had a very simple method for extracting codes and thus allow for diagnosis. All of my more recent cars have similar capabilities typically through a test connector port. I am still learning about my 85 1/2 944.

The "service manual" (Haynes) I own shows a test connector in the schematic diagram. Can anyone tell me what this looks like, where it's located, how to read codes and what the codes are? Or is this a secret reserved for the dealership network?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott,
The Plug for the code reader, if you have one, should be next to your DME plug-in. The reader is a special tool # 9268. The only problem is finding one.

Wayne -
Thanks for the information. I visited your site. My car is n-a and the TPS is just a switch (not a potentiometer) - I'm not even sure I have a knock sensor. So... all the codes you list don't apply to my car.

However, I have located a small connector near the center of the engine bay just in front of the firewall - is looks like it has three pins in it. This connector is a about 1 inch long, 1/2" in diameter and has a little plug to close it off. My guess is this may be the diagnostic port.
Anyone know for sure?

If so - how do I check codes? (Same as Wayne lists at his site?) What are the codes for a naturally aspirated engine?

Thanks,

Scott

There's a .pdf with blink codes Here but I don't know if they're different than what you already have or not. Look toward the bottom of the frame on the left.
