Post transmission differences between early & late models

ok so there was a part of me that wants to upgrade my transaxle, possibly looking forward to a V8 swap in the future and i know that the turbo LSD transaxle is the best bet for one of those. But i have an early model 85 and i was wondering if the transmission would bolt right up or if i'd need to do some modifications?

You will need the mount from your transaxle, but other than that it is a simple swap. If you are doing a v8 swap you would want to focus your search on the AOR transmissions (out of the turbo S) as they are the strongest available.

ans2 transcould work as well. it might suit even better to find a 968 trans, using the extra gear allow better use of the v8's power and torque.

if the turbo trans has a built-on oil cooler then you need to make an adapter to fit the mount. i did, very easy. if if does not have a cooler then your mounts will bolt on.
