Thaddeus, I'm bored too. I guess I'll start the flame. Let's see, what should it be? V8 conversions, air vs. water, what?

How about this:

I love the Cayenne, and I cait wait to own one someday.

Thats it David!!! You combined a V8 and water cooling, in a stupid truck! I know the idea was for Porsche to make some money on that junker to finance real cars but I think they are screwing themselves. The SUV market is slowing and a fast SUV is not enough to stop the decline. Wake up David, how could you want one of those???

Thaddeus, are you going to the club race in Brainerd this weekend? Assuming Leightons garage in Edina gets my wheel bearing replaced today I will be in #60, grey 944T on black fuchs. Brent

How about this: I spotted thaddeus recently in the outskirts of St. Paul, and he was rocking a type R mugen 951 with a 4" drop, 20" chrome wheels, listening to biggie on the 1500 watt 4-10" solo baric sub array. I could hear him from a couple of miles away.

No, I won't be there... damn, I didn't even know it was happening. Sure would like to be there. This heat has frazzled my noggin.

You put Fuchs on a 951? Is that an 86? I'm told they won't fit my 87...

But this friendly stuff is beside the point. Can't you write something inflammatory? This is the flame thread...

C'mon guys. This IS a flame, remember?

Brent: How can I like the Cayenne??? I'll tell you how. It will be a better accelerating, better handling, better braking, and better looking vehicle than your POS 951. Those cars [951's] are f___ing slow! How could you like that car, couldn't afford a REAL Porsche, like a 911???

Sounds pretty mean, huh?!?

Thaddeus, how in hell did you double post with five minutes, and my post between them?

Stupid 951 owners.

I am in total agreement with David about the Cayenne. Lets face it, 944 owners drive 944’s because they do not have enough money to buy something decent. They are cheap imitations of a real performance vehicle, like a Vette or a Cayenne.

All I ever hear is “off ramp this” and “off ramp that”. What is so special about off ramps? Shoot, with a real vehicle like the Cayenne, you won’t even need an off ramp – you can pick your own line. That's the kind of freedom a real performance vehicle provides.

Also I hear “these cars are not drag racers” excuse a lot. What’s up with that? This is America where getting to highway speeds as fast as possible is everything. Slow 0-60 times are dangerous when pulling out of traffic – you are constantly putting yourself and innocent others at risk with these slow “non-drag-racer” cars. Be responsible - get a V-8 or get off the road.

Dave,

How's this, the most beautiful Porsche ever produced was the Pan-Americana show car/birthday present produced in the late 80s, and it was a "real" Porsche being that it was air-cooled and based on the 911. Not like these 924/944/951 posers. I couldn't agree more about the Cayenne. Porsche should stay out of racing since they were never any good at it anyway! Bring out more trucks!

Eric:

Yes Porsche should go back to making tractors. That is what they were best at.

You have to admit that if Porsche had to drop out of LeMans and Daytona, because they weren't competitive, then what has the world come to.

They won't race Boxsters, much less give them turbos, because they would chew up 911's for half the price. How can they be competitive against the other GT class cars, with that kinda logic
