Angry Reverse lights don't stay on...

My 86 944n/a reverse lights don't stay on when backing up, they go on when I first put it in reverse for only a second then turn off.Does anyone know where there might be a loose connecton?

Consider yourself lucky, mine don't even go on. Perhaps the switch is loose.

sometimes the reverse ligfht switches can wear out or the contact can burn, it is located in the transmission.

I had a simular problem. Not the same as yours. My Side mirrors and back up lights did not work. They share same fuse. Fuse is good, side mirror motors check good, reverse light bulds good. Center console switch was the problem, maybe loose. I went in to check the switch, disconnected it, plugged it back in and both side mirrors and reverse lights work fine. Might help you out, if not my guess is the tranny switch. I bought one before I found my problem, never put it in, looks like it would screw in from out side of trans somewhere. But not sure. Any one else know? Hope this helps
