Post Boost RPM

Boost on my 86 seems to hit really hard at about 4k rpm. The power is really flat until then. Is this relativly normal? Just wondering. BTW, the car is all stock. The boost guage needle registers nothing until I hit about 3500 to 4000 rpm.

The boost usually hits around 3500rpm`s (stock) where the peak torque is also. Try Lindsey boost enhancer and it will move down to around 2600-2700 on stock chip settings...the difference really can be felt and for $90 it is a bargain. No need to shift down to 4th when passing on a highway around 65mph.
