Post Unwanted heat from vents

I am experiencing a problem with my Climate Control system. I have a constant flow of hot air from the outer most vents and warm air from the center vent. My other problem is the fan blower only works on high. Is there a resistor for the fan? If so, where?

Thanks
Justin

Sounds like you have the common problem of a broken plastic fitting - the one located in the heater box which normally holds a particular vent flap closed.

Its an easy fix, get into the drivers footwell area and remove the side of the heater box it held on by a couple of screws. With the cover off you should be able to see the metal rods which control the various vent flaps. They have plastic fittings on their ends wher they connect to their respective lever arms. Look for one metal rod that appears to be hanging loose. The fittings are only a dollar or so from Porsche.

I recently solved this prob myself- thanks to the Rennlist. The part # for one of the fittings is: 944.572.314.00..., and it was just under a buck, as Wayne stated.
There are actually two of them, and I believe they are slightly different. The broken one I pulled out was definately smaller than the one I bought to replace it, but I shoved it in there anyway, and it's worked fine, so far... I have know idea about the fan speed problem though.

Good luck
