Question Valve Job

Hello all, this is my first post to Rennlist.

I was just informed that my 1986 Red 951 needs a valve job as the 4th cyl has about 90% leakage due to a burnt valve.

I have 2 questions:

1) Is this a reasonable estimate (I live in Northern NJ)?

2) What other preventive maintenance or performance upgrades should I do while the car is torn apart?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Goobu, look in the classified under 944 parts. there is a gentlemen named Garrity Repata who has a post for a flow job for under 600. yours will be a little more as you have the burnt valve but why not get a few more hp out of the experience, and garrity is a fantastic person to do bussiness with.
