Post Rebuilt tranny and new clutch

Hi guys,
I just had my tranny rebuilt (all syncros changed, etc...) and put in a new clutch disc (spring centered). Total cost 950$ American. What do you guys think? Worth it?
Some of the tranny pieces were replaced with new, but better ones.
Just looking for some feedback.
Thanks
Mike

That is very cheap......you could have easily spent that much to have the clutch changed......perhaps you turned the wrenches yourself?

Mike:

Please do tell where you got it done. I would seriously consider doing the same to my car for that price!

Thanks,

Originally I wanted to try doing it on my own, but at that price, I figured it would be better the mechanic did it.
It was done at a local small shop (not a Porsche dealer).
What is your opinion on the spring centered clutch versus the rubber centered?

All the discussion I've seen favor the spring centered clutch over the rubber one.

I'm in the middle of replacing my clutch right now and have 8 hours just in removing it!! I've also spent over $500 for a new clutch plus the cost of resurfacing the flywheel. I would certinly have used your shop had I known about it.

Well...my flywheel wasn't touched...it was left alone. Also, the clutch disc I bought was from vertex...
I saved money on the repairs, but someone hit my car, so I have to waste money fixing that now! Another 500$ in the toilet
