Post Red 951 w/ yellow rims

Who was it on this board that mentioned a red 944t with yellow rims? Was this the car?

This car is listed in the Rennlist classifieds. A buddy is interested in it and if it is the same car, I just wanted to get the 411 on it before contacting the owner. Thanks!

I think the badge on the side is a nice touch. The mags are a little too flashy though (who am I to say whats flashy? my car is yellow!)

Maybe you could put red rims on your car.

I'm happy with my silver design 90's thank you. They look pretty trick after installing these RUF center caps that I found (one of the original centercaps was damaged when a punk tried to steal it)

My good friend was looking at that car to buy. He said it was a great deal and the owner took great car of it (if it's the same one, but how many have yellow cups with a Porsche emblem on the side?)

Is it up north somewhere?

He would have got it but he found a steal on a 97 M3.

Question

The car is in Wichita KS. My buddy lives in No Cal and is a little hesitant flying to Kansas to check out/buy a car.

Matt: Let me know if this is the same car your friend looked at. Sounds like it, though.

Thanks!

I agree with your friend, which leads me to my dumb question of the week:

Why don't sellers here, on E-bay, and other world-wide electronic forums spend the small amount needed to get a documented pre-purchase inspection from a local Porsche dealership to post as part of the ad?

I'd seriously consider flying cross-country if I had an unbiased appraisal of the car's current condition to work from. I'd _never_ do it just on the seller's word that it's "immaculate, never wrecked...etc." Some people know & tell the truth; some don't know, and think they're telling the truth; and then there are the outright scam artists....

AFAIK, a dealership PPI is pretty hard to fake or influence, since it's a legally binding document, at least as far as major flaws are concerned; the dealership would be unlikely to assume the liability of issuing a good report on a poor car, since the buyer could come back on them in court... or am I being too naive here?

If an ad here or on E-bay offered a copy of the PPI, I'd have to figure that I was getting something worth an extra few hundred dollars on price, and that I could base a buying decision on. Yet _nobody_ ever does this...

Jim, probably expecting too much here...

If I remember correctly that guy did get a PPI for my friend. (I got my friend's voice mail so he'll probably call me back tonight/tomorrow).

I'll post the final answer as soon as I figure it out.
