Yeah, it does look funny with its butt stuck up in the air. Perhaps the rear ride-height eccentrics are already at full low.

Wonder what kind of shape the engine is in. It did sit around for four years I guess.

Beware guys! In addition to what everyone else has said, i have seen this car on ebay at least 3 times before. I'm not sure if the buyers are falling through or what...but it seems awefully suspicious that i've seen this car before on ebay.

yep ive seen it on ebay before too, people must be backing out for some reason

also i remember last time they added a little line at the bottom "will change belts by request of many emails" yea right.. an 89Turbo for <12 grand is too good to be true, sorry but the cars are too rare to ever go cheap unless something is wrong with em.. but hey it might be just fine and has just had a hard life or something!

I'm just so happy with my 944 and 951. They're both such excellent machines! I don't care what I payed for them, it's over now and material is just what it says, material, nothing to ever replace the soul... So as some have informed me that I overpayed, yet I do not care. Like someone said on here to me when I was talking about how I really liked my 944 - "Happiness is not getting what you want, it's wanting what you get". ;-)

Come on...one of you buy this thing to put it out of it's misery so you can start your own (misery). 3X on EBay? This along with being identified as "salvage" is probably giving the car a complex.

The Real Mike S. (not to be confused with Mike S aka #886 above).

To the REAL Mike S; Why dont you tell the other Mike S to post as Mike N/A?? Hehehehe. Dont worry, it was a joke; I'm not actually that dumb.

Just like Bob S. should have a sig that reads "Bob S., 8 more valves than the Bob n/a"

How much damage do you need to have on a 3 year old car for it to be totaled? Assuming $40k new, it could have been a substantial amount of damage. Of course, there are other reasons a car can get a salvage title, but...

In the fall of '91 there was a major nor-easter that hit the NY metro area. A lot of cars near the water were flooded. Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island..... are near the water, and had floods that year.

This might explain the carfax Perry reported

"Ok, carfax report says a salvage title issued 10/29/1991, 9,500 miles, New York Motor Vehicle Dept. Bronx, NY.
Re-Titled '94 with 15,xxx miles.
2 Auctions, 2 dealers."

Never thought I'd live longe enough to be a historian.

So surely either someone here is close to DFW, or knows a car nut who is... let's get this thing checked out in person, here...

And again, I'm wondering why sellers don't get dealership PPI's to post with the ad on ebay, if the car is as good as they say...

Jim, 'tis better to light a single candle than to sit & curse the darkness, etc...

jim,

I wish I had known about the car last week--I spent last Tuesday-Thursday in Mesquite and I had some time to kill on WED. I could have headed into DFW and taken a look. If the car is still around when I return for the start of the project, I will check it out and post a report for all(or buy it, if everything is A-OK) .

Eric
