Smile G-Tech test results.

Fixed the stuttering with a new clamp on the intake boot that connects to the AFM ;-)
How I did the runs: I couldn't figure out how to start the car off, so I just finally said 'i'll just do it like I would normally take off at a light'. SO, I went as fast as I could starting off without flooring the pedal, riding the clutch to bad, or making the car act unatural. I pressed in about 1/4 way and rode the clutch up to about 2K, then started letting off as I gassed it a little more, then by 2600 I let go of the clutch and slammed down on the gas (in that order!) Then the car turned into it's normal nuclear powered self and scared me ****less.
I did a gooood bit of these with minimum abuse and got nothing but 5.45's - 5.65's. I did launch once for hell of it just like adrial said and got 5.18. Quarter mile times consisted of 13's. One 13.99 q/m with a 6.0 0-60 (the car kinda stuttered, I messed up) Then the high was 13.77. On my way home I get to turn onto a pretty newly paved highway, and when I did I turned on, went up some, stopped quickly (traffic moves fast behind you) set the meter and did the same routine and it said 13.55 @ 107.4mph. Like I said, it's a really new road so ya know.
Info on the car: Weight wise, I had 265miles on the trip tach since last refuel, I usually get 20MPG in town I'm assuming so figure that up. It should be bone stock weight wise, all tools, jack, spare tire, sound padding, it's all there. ONly thing I've lost weight wise would be the cat. with a test pipe.
Performance mods are simple: A.P.E. Stage II, MBC, D/P Wastegate, Testpipe 2.5". Boost wise, I don't know so don't ask me 'what kind of boost I'm running' because I don't know what gear I'm supposed to do it in to find out. I do know that the gauge shows right around 17.5PSI full boost in 3rd gear though.
& That's it!

Pretty good craig! I hope I get big blingage from my insurance thingy and get to put a hopped up turbo and other goodies in my car...I will definitely be doing a little bit of the g-tech testing and taking her up to the drag strip after that. You still have nothing on my 5.14 (best time)...that was with a 3.5K launch with wheelspin, which I found to be the fastest.

Well said, Bob. Unless you're just drag racing your 944 (I'll hold back on how silly I think that would be) you can make up more time in driving by learning to Drive correctly. Unless you're already the world's greatest driver. Plus you won't go through clutches quite as often. I wouldn't be surprised to see you posting about needing a new clutch before long, craig.

Just a thought.

DangerIsland: I don't think so, it's rather new and I'm not going to do anymore tests until late march or whenever I do my next little upgrade that I'm planning on.
Bob S: I understand it even more with this car than I did with the 944, at least the 944 was easily launched. This 951 brings no itch to 'drag'.

Also, about how I did the starts, I mean gosh, I didn't do anything funky to harm the clutch, I just took off like you would at a red light, then after I let off the clutch as normal I slammed the gas down. I did ride it up to ~2K a few times, so I guess it does wear it...
