I know this may appear to be a stupid question, but can someone tell me which years a 944 turbo was made? And what was the last year for a 944?

No questions are stupid!
The 944 Turbo was made between 1986 and
1991. 1991 was the last year for the 944.
In 1988 the 944 Turbo S was made available and in 1989 onwards all 944 Turbo was given the Turbo S specifications.

 

One correction the 1989 944T was not an "S". The "S" was only the late 1988's, in 1989 the "S" was dropped.

 

944 Trubo was from late 1985 to 1989 in the US. The 1988 models were availible with the optional S package consisting of a larger turbo for more power and larger brakes among other items. For 1989 the S designation was dropped but all '89 turbos use the components from the '88 S making them essentially S cars. The 944S2 (naturally aspirated 4 valve) continued through 1991 when it was replaced by the 968. The 968 is more of a 944 evolution than a different car. It continued through 1995.

In the US the 944 stopped being sold in 1989. In the Rest Of the World (ROW), the 944 turbo (I'm not sure about the 944 N/A) was produced upto and including 1991.

That means Canada too. There are a couple hundred post-'89 944 Turbos in Canada somewhere...
