Hey Folks, just wondering if anyone might have an idea how I can resource records that will allow me to estimate how many cars were built of the same edition/color as the one I purchased last year. I've been asked this question so many times since I bought it that I thought it's time I had an answer. Just a link to this info would be much appreciated (unless of coarse you already know these statistics!) Thanks!

2872 S2 coupes built to ROW spec in 1990 and only 449 build to US/Canada spec.

Sunroof delete, int & ext colors were options so it would be difficult to determine unless someone creates an S2 registry and everyone who ever had one contributed. The factory would know but who there would be willing to go through the records to find how many with your options were made? Doubtful you will find answer.

There is a site in the UK that tells how many of a car are still registered. So you can kinda estimate a percentage of survivors.

Last time I searched it for the 944 there were only about 35% of the original numbers left.

So that should give you a ballpark of how many remain.
