Default 944S injector on NA, work in a pinch?

So I tried to do a rush fix of something tonight and broke the tip of one injector. I happen to have a 951 injector in the shop, would it get me by until I get a new one asap?

Never done it myself but I just can't see having one cylinder getting more juice than the others being a good thing. Surely some here is close enough to you to get you one fast.

Looks like they are different resistances. But what I can't find is if 944s injectors are compatible.. I may have that option as well...

Do not mix the 944 and 951 injectors! You will wash-out one cylinder, and the others will run lean as the closed-loop tries to correct out the excess fuel...

Even the 944S/S2 injectors are different (higher flow-rate), and will also cause a similar issue.

A good set of injectors is flow-matched to within 1%. Do not mis-match injectors.

If you must move the car - then I would just unplug that one injector (so you will have a dead-cylinder), and unplug the O2 sensor. Then get the car to wherever you need, and then fix it.

The S/S2 injectors are +25% larger than 944 injectors.
They are a higher flow-rate, and the car would run overly rich... it could wash-out the rings of every cylinder, pollute your oil (increasing the chance of spinning or damaging bearings), and foul-out plugs.
The DME calculates its fueling based on a known injectors size. Changing the injector size, without changing the DME software is a short recipe for hurting something.

Get the right injectors.

I have 2 injectors from a 944 NA that I just got back from Witchhunter service. I can send you one in the mail today. If you need me to express it, I can do that also. Let me know. Cost would be $30 for one or $50 for both I have plus whatever the shipping is.

$50 is a good deal for both injectors just back from Witchhunter. I keep a full extra NA set just because of what you are going through right now.

Cheers,
Larry
