I was doing a little internet searching, and it seems like the easy solution is to buy this: 944.559.543.02 and put in a late windshield.

Ritter, I found that the original 477 (924) p/n has been superseded by this one: 928.559.285.02 - and it's only $2.25 at Pelican.

I still may try to put a late windshield in my '84 because I like the look of the flush mount so much more...

how is 928.559.285.02 the right part? /: I looked on pelican and I can't really see it in the picture. I'll probably call them up or just pony up the 180ish bucks for the right clips /: I have a new 944 for a parts car.. It looks nice but I can't get windshield in Iowa without selling body parts my body parts that is :P

Actually, the 928 p/n above might not be the right part. I just checked again, and the part is 477.853.659.B (Clamp) qty 16. But according to Pelican, it's been superseded by 477.853.659.C - which is $9.75.

that seems more likely, however since there isn't a picture I'm pretty hesitant /: I'll probably give them a call tomorrow and see whats up

I couldn't find the thread but someone posted a VW part number for those clips many years ago. I needed several for my 83 and the glass installer knew to get them at a VW dealer. I believe it was for the Super Beetle and Rabbit with metal moldings which were late 70's or 80's.
