944 Final Drive Ratios

Hi List
I'm hoping you can assist as no end of googling has come up with the answer for this.
I have a '86 NA 944 which some time in the past has ended up with a turbo gearbox. This has too long ratios for my liking and the main culprit appears to be the longer final drive ratio. I have tried to find a standard box in Australia but if you find one they are asking as much as my car is probably worth. What i do have is an early model QK gearbox which has the correct final drive ratio but the wrong mounts.
So the question is, can you swap the final drive (crown wheel and pinion) between the different gearbox versions.
Many Thanks

No, the R/Ps are not compatible between N/A and Turbo/S/S2 transmissions.
But can't the different mounts can be changed between your two N/A transmissions (?).

Red - Try the guys over at http://www.exoticarparts.com.au/ - They've helped me source things like that in the past.
APorschaPart in Melbourne are even better at getting stuff, but they charge a higher price.
Alternately, sign up to your local porsche club, as they normally have a "Wanted" section in the classifieds.
