cheapest place I found was ebay, but it wasn't a significant margin. Main reason is because the vendor offered free shipping and was about 15~20 bucks cheaper the higher "stage" of clutch you got. Stage one, 10 bucks cheaper, stage two, 25 cheaper, stage three, 45 cheaper, ect.
I got a spec stage two for a stock 85.5 N/A. I've heard some bad things about spec but some good things too. I wanted something slightly beefier than stock, but driveabilty close to stock (not an on-off switch) so a stock sachs was ruled out.

at the price the OEM flywheel is going for it would be at least worth considering an alternative...lighter flywheel does mean a bit trickier to start from a dead stop though.

clutch disk you can get re-lined at a local clutch shop...i got mine done for ~$80

I got a GREAT deal on a stock SACHS (spring centered) clutch kit for my '89 944S2 3.0 on Amazon $600 as I remember for a PP, Disk, and TO bearing. Check it out.

Every call to Paragon has been a good one for me - although I did not buy a clutch. If I did need one, Paragon would be the first call.
