Default New cam belt pretensioning

First timing belt change...

So how do you pretension the top run? Looks like I could start the belt on the crank gear and then pull the top run tight onto the cam gear with one of the bar like tools in the trunk toolkit for leverage?

If you do not pull it tight enough looks like you could be off by a belt tooth. Though maybe in that case the bottom run would be too tight?

I guess you could also count belt teeth between the ends of the run before removing the old belt to be sure.

Just wondering what technique others use to get the new cam belt situated correctly on the cam/crank gears.

line cam gear to TDC, then turn it barely (like 2mm) to the right, slip belt on the teeth, then turn cam gear back. will be "tight" on the top side of the belt. install tensioner etc.
